Noah Zahn, a student member of the YMCA Board of Directors, member of the YMCA Changemakers institue, and senior at HNHS is organizing a food and clothing drive for families in need in Huntington County in conjunction with Love INC.  Prior to the pandemic, Love Inc. had over 500 visits a month from families utilizing their services and they are expecting that number to climb in the winter months. Furthermore, Love Inc. and other organizations in Huntington have not been able to do their typical collection drives, such as “Stuff-A-Truck”. Zahn’s initiative helps fill this need by engaging high school students to pick up these donated items from donor’s houses and deliver them to Love Inc. These items include non-perishable food items, winter clothing and even cleaning and hygiene products such as toilet paper, toothpaste, and dish soap. All donations are greatly needed and appreciated. CLICK HERE to sign up. Huntington North Students will be picking up these donations from donors’ homes on November 11th, 12th, or 13th from 4PM to 8PM. To remain safe, donors can also leave items outside their home or business and students will pick up items on the specified date.
