Mental Health America of Northeast Indiana will be providing three lunch and learn sessions to help community members increase their awareness and knowledge around several important mental health topics. With the mission of promoting mental and emotional health within the community by offering advocacy, support services, education, and hope, the YMCA is thankful to partner with Mental Health America on these important topics. 

Sessions will be held at the YMCA location on the following Mondays: April 19, May 3 and May 17 from 11:30am-1:00pm.  The following topics will be covered:

April 19: Long-Term Impacts of COVID on Mental Health (2020 in review; how stress, fear, isolation and the unknown impact our mental health; managing stress and self-compassion and where to turn if help is needed).

May 3: Stigma and Mental Health (defining and understanding stigma; impact of stigma on ourselves and our community; reducing stigma).

May 17: Youth Mental Health (understanding youth mental health; typical development vs. warning signs; questions to ask if concerned; where to take for more help).

Individuals may choose to attend one, two or all three sessions as desired.  Attendees who come to all three sessions will be entered into a drawing for one month free Y membership.

Each month the lunch will be provided by Millers Merry Manor Huntington.  Registration / capacity for these spring 2021 sessions are at 50% capacity as per the normal capacity offered for YMCA Lunch and Learns. Lunch and learn sessions are free of charge to all community members but it is requested that interested individuals register with the YMCA by calling (260) 359-9622 or stopping by the YMCA.
