Fall dance and gymnastics registrations are underway.  Dance sessions begin August 12 with the new gymnastics sessions beginning August 1.  Each fall program will continue through November 30.

Dance classes and instruction are offered in ten different styles and include jazz, pointe, clogging, tap, character, hip hop, contemporary, ballet, ballroom and lyrical. Throughout the last few seasons the YMCA’s School of Dance had boasted over 260 dancers. Fees for the School of Dance are $31.50 for members and $44.50 for nonmembers.  Costume fees are included in program fees.  Dancers will keep their costumes.  Discounts are available for those participating in multiple classes and/or if multiple family members are enrolled.

Gymnastics programming takes place on Thursday evenings and costs $25 per month for members and $35 for non-members.  Classes are offered for Pre-K (serving ages 3.5-5 years) and three additional skill levels are offered to meet the needs of children from beginners to more-advanced levels.  If parents are uncertain of which level for enrollment or if students are new, they may be tested to determine their skill levels.  Skills testing is completed each Thursday evening.

Financial assistance is available for both dance and gymnastics.  More information about fall sessions can be found here on the YMCA website or by contacting Jill Gradeless, YMCA Chief Operations Officer at jill.gradeless@huntingtony.org.   Registration for each program may be completed by calling 260-359-9622 or stopping by the YMCA at 1160 W 500 N, Huntington.

YMCA School of Dance is made possible by the Indiana Arts Commission, Arts United of Greater Fort Wayne and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.  Parkview Huntington Family YMCA’s mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
