Free Fall Festival slated for October 18

Event will feature reduced enrollment fee to join the YMCA and animals from Huntington Humane Society for adoption consideration

On Saturday October 18 from 11am to 2pm we will be offering our free annual Fall Festival.  Children are encouraged to wear their costumes and join us for a costume parade at noon on our healthy trick-or-treat trail!

Starting at 11:00am, the Huntington-community event will feature free family-friendly fall-themed activities, obstacle courses, carnival games, fall arts and crafts and healthy snacks at the YMCA facility. Huntington area agencies and businesses will be on-hand to provide these kid-friendly activities and snacks. Stoney’s Mobile Garage Band, a mobile unit which provides an opportunity to try a variety of musical instruments will make its debut in Huntington. The mobile garage band trailer was recently gifted to the Huntington Y in memory of Fort Wayne teen, Aaron M. Stone, a young man passionate about music who lost his battle with cancer in March of 2017.

A membership special all day will be offered all day as those interested in joining the Y can “spin the savings wheel” and save up to $75 off the typical enrollment fee. Throughout the event, food trucks will also be onsite for those who would like to purchase a drink, heartier snack or meal. Food trucks scheduled to be at the YMCA include: BrisketKase BBQ, Grace’s Roasted Bean Coffee Trailer and more!

The Huntington County Humane Society will also be onsite with puppies and kittens available for adoption. Fall Festival attendees can visit with the animals and begin the adoption process to adopt their next furr-ever friend, if interested. Families are also encouraged to bring pet supplies to help support the important work of the Huntington Humane Society. If you’d like specific details of the supply needs, a wish list of the Humane Society can be found on their website: www.huntingtonhumane.org. All those who contribute to the pet supply drive will be entered to win a fun prize, courtesy of the YMCA.

The Parkview Huntington Family YMCA’s Fall Festival will take place both inside and outside at their facility located at 1160 W 500 N, Huntington.  In the case of inclement weather, all activities (except the food trucks) will be moved inside.
