Frequently Asked Questions

What’s included in my YMCA membership?
Your membership gives you access to our facility. All members can utilize our gymnasium, pools, track, and outside area.  Members (ages 12+) can utilize the fitness equipment. Members (ages 14+) can attend our free adult group exercise classes. Members (ages 7 and under) can stay in our Play & Learn, childcare-area while a parent is in the building. Some programs are for members only, such as water aerobics and personal training. Programs that are open to the community are offered at a discounted price for members.

What’s included in my Silver Sneakers, Renew Active, or other insurance-paid membership?
You get the same benefits as any other member (see above.)

Do I have to join for a whole year?
No, we can set you up with monthly draft payments that are continuous with no termination date.
You may cancel your membership at any time, provided that you give an in-person, 30-day notice to cancel.

Do I have to pay a Joiners Fee?
Yes, this is a one-time fee to initiate your membership. You do not need to pay it again, unless you cancel your membership and want to re-join at a later time.

What if I cannot afford my membership dues?
We provide financial assistance for those in need. Ask us about our “Membership For All” program to see if you qualify.

Can I visit other YMCAs?
Yes, you have a Nationwide YMCA membership and may utilize other YMCAs that are in the Nationwide system, which is the majority of YMCAs. You can call other YMCAs, before visiting, to check. Other YMCAs may have different programs, policies, and age restrictions.
Whatever YMCA you establish your membership with, they are your “Home Y.” Members should attend their “Home Y” more than any other YMCA.

Can I bring a guest?
Yes, a guest can visit the Y with you for an additional, daily cost: Adult/$10, Youth/$5, or Family/$20.

What happens if I lose my membership card?
We can replace your card for a $5 fee.

Is there someone who can teach me how to use the fitness equipment?
Yes, any member can schedule a free orientation with a fitness staff member to demonstrate the equipment, which can take 30-60 minutes. Youth, ages 12-15 are required to have an orientation before entering the Wellness Center and will be instructed on what equipment is allowed for their age. You can schedule an orientation at our Front Desk. If more guidance is desired, you can register to work with a personal trainer for an additional cost.

How do I know when the pools are available for open swim?
We have a sign-up system, so that you look ahead of time (7 days in advance) and schedule a time to swim. You can call the front desk to assist you or click below.

How do I attend a group exercise class?
Classes are free for members (ages 14+) and ongoing. Join a class anytime. There is no start or end date. You can view the monthly schedule online and sign-up for each individual class you plan to attend. We encourage you to sign-up, so that our instructors can be prepared for the number of individuals coming and to ensure we have enough space and equipment for the class.

When is the gymnasium open for free play?
We have two indoor basketball courts. Many programs and organized groups utilize them; gymnastics, basketball, volleyball, preschool, etc. So the gym is not always open for member use. You can check court schedules on our website or on our gym doors. Visit our website to view all our schedules (gym, Play & Learn, classes, pools, racquetball, etc.)

Dress Code

Please dress modestly and remember that we are a family facility.  We ask that YMCA members and guests consider the YMCA’s four core values (Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility) in their choice of attire by observing the guidelines* below:

Tops: Tank tops and sleeveless shirts should cover the chest and midriff.

Bottoms: No excessively short-shorts. Our goal is that shorts should be mid-thigh in length.

Footwear: Appropriate athletic shoes must be worn. No open-toed shoes in wellness center.

Messages on Clothing: Clothing or jewelry that displays vulgar or hateful language, prejudices, or immoral behavior are not appropriate.

* The YMCA reserves the right to define inappropriate/offensive attire. If we feel that attire is contrary to our core values, we may ask you to change and/or leave the facility.
